cts | Volt a Day | Conference Call

Probably responding to the CAB members' impatience to get their cars, we received word today that there word be a conference call on Thursday (noon Eastern time).

They will give us a "vehicle scheduling update," which probably means we will hear that the cars are delayed a week. (Not a surprise, since we didn't get them on Monday and no call to schedule a delivery later in the week. So it can't happen this week, making next week the subsequent target.)

We will hear about the charger installations and how they are going. It sounds like mine, Chelsea Sexton's and Mark Swain's are all nightmares compared to most of the rest of them. I will try to post an update on my situation tomorrow morning.

They'll tell us about vehicle graphics, which I hope means that we are getting partial wraps. (The Unplugged cars have a cool graphic. If I were GM and trying to save a dollar or two, I would just re-use those same images.) At the dinner a few of us mentioned driving our EV1s with brochures at the ready, since we got so many requests for information. They'll tell us about "vehicle handouts," which will certainly translate into a "leaving piece" that we can carry. Again, I would be surprised it if weren't the same single-sheet brochure that they have at the Unplugged events, since those are doing the job for them.

They will end by giving us a schedule for the rest of the CAB conference calls. (We agreed to do one a month, plus once-a-week button pushes on the OnStar system. I plan on sending a LOT more feedback their way, especially in the first week.)

The delivery push is a drag. In part because it will really interfere with my participation in NaNoWriMo.
