cts | Volt a Day | Patience, Grasshopper October 14, 2010
I've never been a fan of instant gratification because of all the waiting involved.
I am very persistent, but that's only because I am unable to let go of things and am willing to keep poking the bear until we get a show. This has not always been a good trait, but it did get us an electric Rav4 ahead of James Cameron, even though he was ahead of us on the list. That's what calling even morning at 10am will do for you.
I imagine that the GM people are almost sick of me at this point. But I am less than a week from getting my charger and then it should be less than a week after that when they deliver my Volt.
I am not alone in my impatience. I have several people waiting on their "test rides," and I hear from each of them every couple days. Even one of my younger son's buddies came up to me on the school yard yesterday and said, "So, do you have the Volt yet?"
I have been reading this blog as a way to distract myself. If I can't have a Volt, I'll read about someone who has one. It's interesting that he doesn't know the weight of the car, and yet he has all that time on the highway to be reading the manual for the car. (That's what my brother and I did on long road trips. Eventually we'd run out of books and wind up reading the manual for the car we were in from cover to cover.)
